The card is wonderful, exactly as pictured. I'm adding this poem to it: Remember the grass was soft yellow green remember the sky was the color of violets the stars were as close as pears in a tree remember the moon was the color of silence forget what was not and could never have been forget how the water came in through the cracks forget all the words when the music begins but remember the song and remember to dance.

A Monster Outlet

I figured out halfway through photography school that I wasn't all that interested in taking pictures. What I really loved doing was to manipulate, superimpose, draw on top of - basically, I loved to mess with the images after I shot them. While in school I was a non-stop doodler, making monsters come out of my notes in every class. I decided to see what would happen when I combined the two - and that's what I've been doing ever since.
Usually, I start with a drawing, scan it, and then layer my photographs on top. I work with a Wacom tablet in Photoshop, and then digitally paint to blend the elements together. My alter-ego as a photography retoucher has given me pretty extensive photo-manipulation skills, so I'm able to really push the pixels around till I get it looking exactly like I want it.
I print my cards, books, and prints myself, using archival pigment inks and high quality fine art matte or photo rag paper, with a professional giclee printer. The pop up cards are individually cut and assembled by hand. The picture books are also trimmed, sewn, glued, and assembled by me in my studio.
